Going Green to Save You Green

Going Green is our mission when it comes to our commitment to our community, our business, and to you – our customers. Through making "green" choices we are helping our planet, provide excellent quality fragrant gifts, and offer affordable products at the same time. Here's how we going Green: * By The Bay Botanicals grows many of our own flowers (see photos on the About Us page of our website) on our 1.25 acre homestead in Maryland “by the bay”. We also collect other natural items in surrounding areas which gets incorporated into our products like the potpourri we are known for. * We compost! Recycling old food and other waste feeds the flowers we grow in an all natural way which reduce costs on buying soil and reduces the need to purchase other chemical additives which can harm the environment and possibly ruin the fragrances of our products. In addition, we use biodegradable peat pots and grow flowers from seeds which saves us money which we can pass along to our treasured customers. * Dried flowers = "recycled” flowers. Many people grow gardens to enjoy fresh blossoms that are beautiful and fragrant. We do the same thing however once the flowers reach their peak they are plucked and dried to go into our potpourris. We have a rose garden, lavender garden, assorted pine trees and other great flowers on our property that we use for our own potpourri. * A portion of our garden(s) is devoted as a bird sanctuary. Several areas contain bird houses, bird baths, various feeders and bird friendly plants and flowers. Having birds helps us naturally fertilize our gardens, admire nature, and preserves our natural Maryland habitat. * Green packaging. We believe Going Green doesn't stop after our products leave our hands. We use bio-degradable recycled plastic, recycled eco-friendly packaging material and recycled paper packaging for all of our products.
