About Us
I am the owner and craft artist for By the Bay Botanicals. By the Bay Botanicals started in January 2009 after a name change, where the business was formally known as Grammy's Country Collectibles. With the new name came new packaging and even inspired new products.
Our products are not your "grandma's old style potpourri". Rather they are made up of our own recipes using colorful flowers and botanicals scented only with essential oils. For instance, our trademark fragrance Chesapeake Bay Breeze is light ocean scent that embraces the essence of tranquil coastly living. From the seashells to the dried deep blue flowers in the potpourri, you are reminded of an ocean like calmness it creates with each passing whiff. Our other fragrances are known to bring tranquility and solitude to anyone looking to make their living space more inviting. The items we offer are safe to use and are visually beautiful as the colors of each of our products are vibrant and compliment any home or office decor.
About 40-60% of our ingredients are grown in our own gardens - which are growing in size each year. We have our own rose garden, lavender bushes, vegetable garden, and herbs that we grow throughout our property and indoors. Once they are ready to be harvested, they are then hand picked by me and then dried using natural drying methods. There are some ingredients we cannot grow (like spices), and are obtained by 1 of 3 Amercian suppliers, depending on the season and availabity of the botanical ingredients.
When it comes to our sprays and oil diffusers - these are our own creation too. We do not make the oil base nor the essential oils - one person can only do so much, however the recipes in handcrafting these products are our own and the scents are our own original designs. What sets our blended oil fragrances apart is that we only use essential oils and choose only the fragrances that would be most appealing in any home or office setting. In other words, the fragrances are not over powering perfumes, but what naturally occurs in nature.
What you may not know about me is that I do freelance writing, do consulting work with craft aritsts about the ins and outs of the craft industry, and am a member of CODA. Thank you for your time in learning about our company. Please take your time in looking over the products we make under the Products tab.
